A little about me
Mr. Isaac Galvan is the Director of Bands at Keller Middle School. A native of Mansfield, Texas, he is a graduate of Mansfield Timberview High School, where he was a TMEA 6A All-State French Horn player. Mr. Galvan holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas.
Prior to joining Keller ISD, Mr. Galvan served as an Associate Band Director at Danny Jones Middle School and Head Band Director at Mary Lillard Intermediate in Mansfield ISD. Bands under Mr. Galvan’s direction have consistently earned unanimous First Division ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations. His ensembles have also been recognized as a Commended Winner in The Foundation for Music Education Citation of Excellence Band Contest and have placed third at the North Texas Festival of Distinction Band Contest.
While at UNT, Mr. Galvan served as a Drum Major for the UNT “Green Brigade” Marching Band and performed with the UNT Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Williams. Prior to UNT, he studied at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he performed with the SFA Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Fred J. Allen. Mr. Galvan’s marching arts background includes performing as a lead mellophone with the Boston Crusaders Drum & Bugle Corps in 2017, placing 6th at the DCI World Championship Finals. He has also served as a marching band technician at Flower Mound High School in Lewisville ISD.
Mr. Galvan is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. In his free time, he enjoys running, spending time with family, watching movies and TV shows (he has 9 streaming services), and rooting for “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys, and the 2011 NBA Champion, the Dallas Mavericks.
